West Union Gardens Hillsboro Oregon

Updated: Aug 13, 2023

West Union Gardens is a owned by Cheryl and Jeff Boden and located near Hillsboro, Oregon. They began farming at West Union in 1987 and have steadily grown in size over the years. They are open to the public during Oregon’s bountiful harvest season. They offer berries, veggies, and flowers, some for u-picking and others for sale already picked in our farm stand. All grown right on the farm.

When you first enter the farm on your left had side is a large sunflower field with a sunflower maze. I've been coming here for the past three years just to take pictures of the sun flowers.

Here is the start of the maze.

There are a lot of Bumblebees and Honeybees here and I'm allergic to bees and have never been stung here. I think they are too busy getting nectar.

Other than the sunflower field they do have three different types of sunflowers.

You can also find grapes.

Farmstand/u-pick hours (through August): 8am-8pm, Mon-Sat. Closed Sundays. Sunflower field hours: Sunrise to sunset, every day through their bloom. For u-picking today there are Triple Crown & Chester blackberries, black currants, blueberries, eggplant, sweet & hot peppers, and blackeye peas.

In the farmstand: there are Triple Crown blackberries! Also, zucchini & summer squash, garlic, and pickling cucumbers (medium & large sizes). I was told no green beans today, and there should be a new crop coming next week.

They also have an area where you can cut fresh flowers for a nice bouquet.

During the month of October, you can also come here for a pumpkin patch. Come and pick your own pumpkins. They are still green right now.

West Union Gardens is located at 7775 NW Cornelius Pass Rd. Hillsboro, OR 97124. You can call ahead and place an order at 503.645.1592. You can even check them out online at WestUnionGardens.com. They accept all major credit cards along with cash and checks.

They also have veggies for picking. If you don't have containers, they will provide clean containers for you to purchase. If you bring your own containers, they will weigh the containers, so you are charged correctly.

As far as dogs they would like you to leave your pet at home. It gets too hot in the car during the summer so your pet would be safer at home. If you have a service dog, they are only allowed as far as the path that leads to the berry rows and not allowed down the berry rows.

Go and check them out and tell them Crazy D's Adventures sent you.
